VPN Error: All TAP adapters are currently in use

If you receive the error "All TAP-Windows adapters on this system are currently in use" when attempting to connect to the Lethean VPN, this is usually because you are already connected to another VPN. The issue can be resolved by adding more TAP adapters.

  1. Find the install directory of the "TAP-Windows" application. By default, this path is `C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\TAP-Windows\Utilities`.
    1. You may have an easier time locating this by opening the start menu and entering "tap". If "Add a new TAP virtual ethernet adapter" is found, right click on the entry and select "Open File Location".

  2. You should see two shortcut files to add or delete TAP adapters. Right click on the one titled "Add a new TAP virtual ethernet adapter" and click "Run as administrator".

  3. A terminal window will open and should run a script to add a new TAP adapter. The message "Driver installed successfully" indicates success.
